So, you are a shy guy. You are not the guy who is going to be the life of the party. Rather, you are the kind of guy who is more likely to end up fading into the background at a party or a nightclub. You’d much rather have a woman to spend quite time at home with than to hit the town and throw it down. Does that mean that you have no chance of getting a girlfriend?
Even if you are a shy guy, you can do really well with women. Instead of looking at your shyness as a weakness, let’s flip that on it’s head and make it seem more like a positive than anything else. How can it be that being a shy guy can actually be a positive?
Well, let’s take a look at what most women really want deep down. Most women don’t want to be out partying every night of the week, they don’t want to have a guy who can’t settle down at all. So, you really do probably have more pluses in your corner than you think you do.
The hardest thing that a shy guy can do, and the one thing that you really do have going against you… is making that first move and getting a woman’s attention. For most shy guys, that is their biggest problem.
Of course, if you are so shy that you can’t even talk to a woman when you get alone with her… that is something that just HAS to change. You can be on the shy side in social situations and still do well. However, if you are so shy that being alone with a woman is something that you can’t really handle, that is always going to be a huge hinderance.
What most shy guys don’t realize is that a lot of women actually do value that quality… to some extent.
Just as with anything else, too much is never a good thing.
Here are some tips for shy guys who want to get a girlfriend:
1) Play up to your strengths.
You probably are going to just intimidate yourself if your first move is to go to a loud and noisy nightclub to get this part of your life handled. So, that probably is not the first thing that you want to do. Play up to your strength and choose a location that is more in line with who you are. I’ve always found that a somewhat busy bookstore can be a good place to get conversations started with women. So are online chat boards.
2) Assert yourself a little more when you are one on one with a woman.
This should be fairly easy for you to do. Most women will overlook your shyness in larger groups as long as you can be a little more assertive and sociable when you are with her. Practice making conversation with women that lasts, not the kind that dies off. This means that you need to ask open ended questions, get her opinion on things, etc.
